The Butterfly series is a continuing series of acrylic works on paper.
Butterflies have inspired humans for millennia due to their delicate nature yet immense power. They symbolize transformation, hope, and rebirth across many cultures.
These Butterflies were created using acrylic paint in squeeze bottles and applying the paint on the paper and then folding the paper. The black areas were done first and allowed to dry to form the initial structure. Additional colors were added and dried between each color.
This method has led to an expressive exploration of the butterfly form.
